Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 1B/RHPPosition Projection

Academic All-American Tournament (MS) Daylon is 1B/RHP who will graduate in 2025. He continues to improve on all of his previous measurables. A right-handed hitter, hits from an upright and square stance. Activates his hands as he turns knob to catcher with a square stride. Linear bat path who gets good extension out front. Shows strength in swing, with a strong barrel, and hits balls into both gaps. In live game action, Daylon had a double and 2 singles. At 1B, starts in an athletic ready position with efficient footwork. Showed good lateral range while creating good fielding angles. Fields out front and a low funnel. Has a loose arm and fires it at 72mph with accurate throws. On the mound, he works exclusively from the stretch with good mound presence. 2 pitch pitcher with plus command on both pitches. FB topped out at 66mph with good movement through the zone. Throws an 11/5 CB that projects as a swing and miss pitch. In live game action, Daylon threw 23 of his 31 pitches for strikes. With continued growth and development, we foresee him having a bright future on the baseball diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
