12/27/2022 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Dayton is a coachable 3B/RHP prospect out of Albuquerque, NM who showcased his skills during the Recruiting Classic. In the field, Dayton shows smooth footwork with a quick first step. He fields in an athletic position and has a clean exchange. He gets rid of the ball quickly and makes strong/accurate throws to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a controlled stride. He gets into his load on time and works through a level swing, producing strong line drives. On the mound, Dayton gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He takes a proper stride and works inline toward the plate. Dayton operates with a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 75mph with late arm side run. Breaking ball sits at 67mph with late 10-4 break. Overall, Dayton is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

01/21/2022 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (HS) Dayton is a 2025 prospect out of Albuquerque, NM who continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting/power potential has improved through an open setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent hard contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At 3B, he displays smooth/fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he works around and plays through balls with his body. Glove action is soft/sure and presents well out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. On the mound, he works to a controlled balance point and has a smooth delivery. Fastball showed a range of 69-73 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. We look forward to seeing what the future holds as Dayton enters his freshman baseball season.

09/19/2021 - All-In Membership - Hobbs, NM Dayton is a class of 2025 1B/3B prospect. Tall frame thick build with some strength present and room to add throughout. In the infield, he starts with efficient footwork and a good pre-pitch routine. He showed the ability pick out hops and track balls to the glove. Tries to center the baseball and plays with good energy. Made accurate/on-line throws, with a short arm action, and an arm velocity up to 68mph. At the plate, he hits from an upright and square stance. Showed ability to get on-plane early and keep his hands inside the baseball. He made contact to all fields, with good extension out front, and a bat exit velocity up to 84mph during BP. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Dayton having a bright future on the baseball diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
