12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Dean is an athletic and talented 1B/OF in the 2025 class. His 6ft 2/140 frame was on display recently at the AZ Recruiting Classic. In the field, he shows a relaxed feel, while being aggressive. He takes proper angles and has an understanding of staying square to the ball. He is on-time to field and working to keep his glove in front of his eyes more, will allow for more hop adjustment. Arm slot is 3 qtr and the arm plays at 80 velo. Scouts feel that if he can adjust and throw the top of the baseball, his accuracy will increase. At the plate, he registered 4 quality at bats with a single, walk and two HBP. He begins in a tall stance and generates bat speed at 81-83. He shows that he can hit to all fields in BP and learning to stay square longer will unlock new power for him. Overall, Dean is a player to keep an eye on in the 2025 class.

09/24/2023 - National Showcase - Seattle/Pasco, WA Dean is a 2025 1B prospect with a tall frame at 6'2" 140 pounds. At first, he does a good job of getting in a ready position and shows off quick feet and agile range to all angles. He works hard to get in a low fielding position and does a nice job of making all the routine plays. He showed a good backhand. He works on staying accurate to his targets and throws from a low 3/4 slot. At the plate, he starts in an open stance and has a good load back. He does a nice job of keeping his hands inside the baseball and makes hard line drive contact. His hips finish strong through his swing and he barreled balls consistently. We are excited to see more of Dean in the future as he continues to develop!

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
