06/04/2023 - National Showcase - Thousand Oaks, CA Declan continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, hitting abilities are now excellent with near pro level power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) generating bat speed to and through a short / direct / level swing path, creating extension. Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball exploding off the bat when centered. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. At SS, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks ball and plays through with his body. Hands are firm and presents well out front. Throws are accurate with carry to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground in the MIF. On the mound, this righty has a 3-pitch arsenal in which to keep hitters guessing. FB comes out of the hand easy with good control. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run.

04/16/2023 - National Showcase - Costa Mesa (Los Angeles), CA Declan is an athletic and talented SS/RHP in the 2024 class. In the field, his measurables jump off the page. Displays 87 mph arm velo. He displays excellent fielding actions and attacks the baseball with aggressive and fluid movements. The ball sticks in his pocket and can redirect the baseball with quick actions. Arm has life and accuracy across the diamond. Working to stay connected with his glove and eyes on his backhands will be a key point moving forward. On the mound, he shows arm extension and stays in-line to his target. Gains a solid lower half push to the plate and working to stay in rhythm will help his body gain a feel for location. His Fb works up to 86 MPH with tailing actions. His CB sat 63-6 with 12-6 shape and late break. His CH showed deception at 70-4. At the plate, he creates loud contact (88 exit velo). Begins in an athletic stance and is strong. Controls his body and his bat head with a short and direct path to the baseball. Production shows line drive power with more in the tank. Overall, Declan has a bright future.
01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Declan continues to show as a prospect with his baseball abilities at the Preseason All American event. At SS, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks ball and plays through with his body. Hands are firm and presents well out front. Throws are accurate with carry (86 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying well above average hitting abilities with solid power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all field with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.
09/21/2022 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic (2024) Declan continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities at the Arizona Jr Fall Classic. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 6.90 runner. At SS, he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active as attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. He moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground in the MIF. Throws are accurate with on line carry across the diamond. At the plate, power potential is now well above average through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) and works through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. At the event, he was 3 for 10. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 79-81 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.
01/07/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (AZ) Declan is a SS/RHP prospect who showcased his skills during the Pre-Season All-America Tournament. In the field, Declan shows active footwork and is agile covering ground. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he makes accurate throws across the diamond. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth to load and leads well with his lower half. He works through a level swing with good extension, spraying the ball to all fields. On the mound, Declan gathers over the rubber and works inline toward the plate. He operates with a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 79mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 60-61mph with 10-4 break. Overall, Declan is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.
12/19/2021 - All-In Membership - Thousand Oaks, CA Declan is a SS/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2024. Medium frame athletic build with strength present and plenty of room to add throughout. At SS, starts with a good pre-pitch routine, with efficient feet, and good body control at baseball. He creates good fielding angles and fields from an athletic fielding position with ability to pick out hops and hands out front. Made accurate throws from a 3/4 arm slot, with a quick release, and an arm velocity up to 80mph. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on-time and extends through on his release. He lands square and gets his chest down over his front knee. Has some deception to his delivery. He throws a FB that sits 77-79mph with some tailing action, a 10/4 shaped breaking ball, and a changeup with some arm side run that he throws with FB arm speed. At the plate, he starts with an athletic and even stance. A balanced stance, with smooth rhythm to swing, and showed a fast bat through the hitting zone. A short barrel path enables him to hit line drives consistently with a bat exit velocity up to 81mph. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we see this 2-way prospect having opportunities to play at the next level.
10/06/2021 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic Declan had a great showing at the AZ Fall Classic despite coming off an arm injury. Defensively, he flashed smooth footwork with soft hands fielding the ball out front and making accurate throws to 1B. Offensively, he uses a line drive approach by being under control and loose in the batters box. One thing Declan can work on is to create more separation in the swing to produce more power. Overall, Declan is a coachable quick learning athlete to keep an eye out for.
09/16/2021 - Pathway AZ Upperclass - 18U Declan is a 2024 SS/RHP who showcased his skills at the Pathway Tournament. In the field, he showed smooth actions, with quick feet, and ability to finish plays. He works from right to left and fields from an athletic/low fielding position with soft hands out front. He creates good momentum to target and a loose arm action. Made accurate across diamond from a 3/4 release point. On the mound, he showed a relaxed and confident demeanor. He gathers over the rubber and works with good direction down the mound. In 1 inning of work, he didn't allow a hit or run and he mixed his pitches well while throwing 59% of his pitches for strikes. At the plate, he hits from a crouched and athletic stance with a comfortable hand set. Quiet head and level eyes enable to track pitches well and showed good awareness of the strike zone. He hits into a firm front side, with a compact swing, and a fast barrel through the hitting zone. Hit hard line drives to all fields during BP. During the games, Declan was 4 for 10 with 4 singles, 2 base on balls, and reached on an error. He also had 2 RBI's during the games. With 3 years of continued growth and development, we see this 2-way player making huge strides on the baseball field.
04/11/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Orange (Los Angeles), CA Declan is a 2024 SS/RHP. Medium frame athletic build with room to fill out and plenty of time to do it. Primary SS with efficient feet and plays downhill. Showed ability to pick out hops and field out front. Clean transfer and creates momentum on his throws. His athleticism allows him to move well laterally. Good DP feeds and 2 hand pivots. Throws from a 3/4 arm slot with accurate/online throws at 80mph. Secondary right-handed pitcher who gets to a good balance point and some deception to his delivery. Stays focused and eyes on target. Clean arm action in the back with a 3/4 arm slot coming forward. FB topped out at 78mph and was around the zone. Mixed in a 11/5 shaped curveball and a slider that he throws from the same window as the CB. Right-handed hitter with an upright and athletic stance. Good rotation and balance as he worked to launch position. On plane swing who showed ability to square balls up and use middle of the field. Bat exit velocity of 78mph. Power will continue to improve with strength. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we foresee him having the opportunity to play at the next level.
02/12/2021 - Baseball Factory Opening Day Classic (HS - West) Declan is a 2024 2B/RHP. Medium frame with an athletic build and plenty of time to mature physically. Primary 2B, shows good fundamentals around the infield, has good range to either side with clean glove work and feel for adjusting his hands to the ball and shows a quick release getting the ball across the diamond on time. Secondary right-handed pitcher, throws from stretch only and has developing mechanics as he matures. Works a compact arm action through a low 3/4 arm slot generating some life to the fastball. 9/3 curveball that he throws for strikes. Right-handed hitter, sets up square with high hands. Works short to the ball with limited shift, gets rotational to the contact point and makes consistent contact. Great attitude and great team mate. Four years of continued growth and development will bode well for his career at the next level.
01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Declan continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. At 2B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are soft / sure and presents well out front. Feet / hands work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy / carry on his throws. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick generating bat speed through an aggressive swing path. Barrel accuracy is a plus and he has strength in his swing through a line drive approach. On the mound, delivery is repeatable allowing his arm action to work well to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 68-73 mph with cutting action.
11/21/2020 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Irvine (Los Angeles), CA Declan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At 2B, he shows smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks ball and plays through with his body. Hands are clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 71 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.
10/24/2020 - Fall Pro Training Experience - So Cal (HS) Declan is an athletic 2B prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Fall Pro Training Experience. In the field, Declan moves light on his feet and has a quick first step. He fields in an athletic position with soft hands and has a smooth exchange. He gets rid of the ball quickly and makes accurate throws to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth to load and drives through well with his lower half. He stays compact through the ball and sprays to all fields. With four more years to develop, Declan has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.
10/14/2020 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic Declan is a coachable 2B prospect who showcased his skills during the Arizona Fall Classic. In the field, Declan gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is smooth and he gets rid of the ball quickly, making accurate throws to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a square stride. He gets his hands activated on time and remains centered in his lower half. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed, leading to solid contact and the ability to get on base consistently. Overall, Declan is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.
09/04/2020 - MS All-Region Tournament Here's a guy that has a bright future in the game. In less than a year since his last outing with the Factory, he has shown great improvements to some of his athletic measurables - going from an 8.39 sixty to a 7.44, and a 7'4" broad jump from 5'2". Not only measurable testing has improved, but also his skillset on all sides of the baseball. Offensively, he had good athleticism in his setup and maintained centered balance through the swing for square contact. At 2B, he created good rhythm, worked his feet, and had a clean exchange. His glove was presented and he collected well to make accurate throws. On the mound, he threw his fastball with run from 65-66 and a CB with 10/4 shape. His low 3/4 slot proved to be deceptive and he has good upside with his frame. All in all, we really enjoy seeing the progress Declan makes from event to event and are excited about days to come.
07/22/2020 - All-In Membership - San Bernardino, CA Declan continues to work hard and progress on the diamond. With the bat, this righty maintains a simple/quiet setup with smooth rhythm to load. He swings against a firm front side and looks to drive the ball back up the middle of the field. Getting more hand separation on his load while letting the ball travel a little deeper into the zone will aid in his development as a hitter. At SS, he displays active prep footwork and works around the GB right to left. He tracks the ball into a soft mitt and gathers well, gaining ground toward his target at 1B. Only a 2024 grad - Declan has tools with still a ton of time to develop to get to where he wants to be.
01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Declan is a quick footed 2024 2B playing out of California. Showed very well at the All-America Pre-season Rookie Tournament, displaying his ability to play advanced defense and be very effective at the plate. Is very active in his pre-pitch movement, takes a quick first step, reads the ball well and has plus range. Also operates with a very quick exchange, able to turn double plays at a solid rate. At the plate, he sets up athletically, has good rhythm and gets directly to the ball with a short, compact swing.
12/15/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Thousand Oaks, CA Declan is a thin, athletic, 2-way player who plays 2nd base and RHP. Defensively, Declan has active feet, a low fielding position, and he covers ground well. He has good pre-pitch actions, he creates a good fielding angle, and he throws with accuracy and consistency from a short arm action to his target. On the mound, Declan has good balance over the rubber, he gets good extension on his pitches, and he lands with good direction toward home; competing in the zone. Offensively, this RHH has an athletic set-up, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He loads well, shows fast bat speed, and he makes hard contact to all fields. Overall skills can continue to get better with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.
Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
