12/27/2024 - Baseball Factory Holiday Classic at Pirate City Derek is a promising 2026 third baseman and right-handed pitcher from Troy, MI, who recently showcased his impressive skills at the Baseball Factory Pirate City Holiday Camp. On the field, he demonstrates excellent footwork, good body control, and the ability to field the ball cleanly with an accurate arm that reaches up to 87 mph. At the plate, Derek starts in an athletic stance and shows a quick trigger with his hands, allowing him to drive the barrel through the hitting zone. In live game action, he delivered two singles, a walk, and two RBIs, showcasing his ability to contribute offensively. On the mound, Derek displays great poise and confidence, attacking hitters with precision. His curveball, which flashed as an effective out pitch, helped him rack up four strikeouts in three innings while allowing only one hit. With another year of growth and development, Derek's potential continues to shine, and he is on track for a bright future in baseball.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
