10/10/2021 - All-In Membership - Charlotte, NC Devin is an athletic SS who has a promising future on the diamond. Defensive abilities are solid as he takes a quick first step (6.98 60 time) and moves well laterally. He creates angles around the GB with fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he plays through with his body. Glove action is soft and presents well out front. He gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on his throws but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line with power showing best to the pull side. With 4 years to further develop, Devin has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
