06/06/2010 - College PREP - Bellevue (Seattle), WA Devon is a two-way player on the mound plus at 3B with a solid average body. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 7.30 60 time. Feet are active in coming to get the baseball but needs to be more aggressive in playing through. Hands are soft, presented out down and out displaying a sure glove action. Throws display life, carry, and accuracy across the diamond but needs to work on getting rid of the baseball quickly. Offensively, Thornhill shows a balanced approach, loads well, allowing him to attack the baseball with his hands. He flashes pop in swing to the pull side due to long swing path as he needs to work on keeping hands inside the ball to utilize all fields. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 79-84 mph through an easy delivery. Off speed pitches are slightly above average, needing further development to be quality pitches at the next level. Arm action is loose and quick as he attacks hitters, throwing strikes with all his pitches. Devon has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve, possibly as a two-way guy.
