06/17/2024 - College World Series Experience - Session 1
Dillan continues to impress with his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate, feet are aggressive and active as he works in line to his target, through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times showed in the 2.28 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Receiving / blocking tools show as quality tools that will play well at the next level as he continues to develop. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.
01/19/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament
Dillan is a 2027 C/3B prospect that recently showcased his skills at the Rookie Pre-Season All-American Tournament. Behind the dish, he gets in a good setup and gives his pitchers a good target with glove low and out in front. He is a quiet receiver that stays low and squared. He made accurate throws to the bag from a high 3/4 slot. He has efficient movements on balls in the dirt and really impresses when blocking. He tucks his chin well and gets his back in a good downward angle. At the plate, he starts in a tall, open stance with comfortable hands. He gets an activated load and has a short stride to the pitcher. He has very controlled movements in the box and does a good job of keeping his balance centered through contact. His swing is on-plane and compact to the baseball and he does a great job of rotating his core and making consistent, line-drive contact. He reached base in 4 of 7 plate appearances in game action with two singles and two walks. Dillan is definitely a prospect to keep an eye on as he continues to develop!
10/11/2023 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic (2027)
Dillan is an athletic C/3B in the 2027 class. He impressed scouts in numerous ways. They felt he had a high baseball IQ and knows how to play the game. Dillian is a very coachable player, plays with energy and always looks to win the pitch. Scouts raved about his receiving and blocking skills. His body is quiet behind the plate and presents a great target for his staff. Pitchers trust his blocking ability and he is quick to recover. At the plate, he begins in a balanced set up with loose and comfortable hands. Uses his body well in his swing and creates a line drive approach. Showed well in games with 2 hits and 2 walks while working the count in other at-bats. Overall, Dillan is a solid prospect with a bright future.
08/23/2023 - National Showcase - Trenton, NJ
Dillan is a C/3B in the 2027 class. Behind the plate, he has effective feet and centers his body to the baseball. Has a firm pocket and tracks the baseball well with his eyes. His exchanges are clean and uses a short high 3qtr release. Feeds are on the bag. Needs to play with more energy behind the dish to keep his defenders engaged. At 3rd, he shows solid pre-pitch movement and covers his are well. Creates momentum through the baseball with a solid angle pursuit. Pocket has feel and his exchanges are clean. Has arm strength at 70 velo and throws have carry. Working to play lower to the ground will help to pick out his hops. At the plate, he begins in a squared stance and stays square to the plate. Stays inside his feet well and hits off a firm front side. Barrel is on-plane and shows pull side pop. Overall, Dillan is a solid prospect in the 2027 class.
03/19/2023 - National Showcase - Bronx, NY
Dillan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities on the diamond and has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.60 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At 3B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present earlier and more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a tall setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent hard contact and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.
12/27/2022 - Baseball Factory East Coast Winter Classic
Dillan is a Catcher in the class of 2027. Behind the plate, he shows decent footwork and good throws down to 2B. Lowest pop time was 2.75 seconds. Received and blocked well. At the plate, he showed off a line drive approach. Was able to use the whole field. Showed very solid mechanics. Dillan is a good player that we hope to see again in the future.
08/28/2022 - Official Player Development Membership - Augusta, NJ
Dillan worked out behind the plate and at 3B during his last workout in Augusta, NJ. Behind the plate, Dillan sits in well, he presents his glove, and sits in easy. He works hard to center the ball, covers ground, and tucks his chin when blocking. Dillan has firm hands, a clean exchange, and throws with a long arm action to 2nd base. At the hot corner, Dillan has good actions, efficient footwork, and he fields squarely. He makes the routine plays and throws with some accuracy across the diamond. At the plate, Dillan can switch hit and is currently better from the right side. He has good strike zone awareness, he stands in squarely, and can hit to all fields. From the left side, Dillan tracks well and swings a level stick.
07/05/2022 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (MS)
Dillan continues to shine on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting abilities has improved through an open setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times has improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.83 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. He shows a solid setup, sticks balls in the zone and utilizes his body through the blocking process but needs to work to get down sooner.
11/04/2021 - Baseball Factory Select Training at Pirate City
Dillan is a coachable C prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Select Training at Pirate City. Behind the dish, Dillan sits in a low stance and presents a good target to the pitcher. His exchange is clean and he makes accurate throws to the 2B bag. He is on time moving to block and covers up well, keeping dirt balls in front of him. Keeping his elbow outside of his knee can help Dillan improve his receiving skills. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a relaxed stance with comfortable hands. He gets into a small load and drives through well with his lower half. He works through a level swing and sprays the ball to all fields. Dillan can generate more pop off the barrel by continuing to develop his lower half strength. With six more years to develop, Dillan has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.
