02/07/2010 - College PREP - Mobile, AL Dillion has a good presence at 1st base, displaying a strong 5'11, 205 lb frame. Plays football for high school team. He closes his body well in order to put himself in a good receiving position at 1B. He shows average footwork around the bag. Needs strong work in foot quickness and agility in order lighten his feet overall. His body will also become more balanced as he improves agility. Offensively, Dillion has average bat speed, but his overall strength gives him potential for more. He needs to balance his approach with his lower half to present a stronger hitting position. He wraps his bat, which lengthens his swing and makes it harder to stay inside the ball. Improvement on his stride foot and upper body load will shorten his swing and keep him inside the baseball, which will allow him to use his body strength more efficiently. Consistent work in specific fundamental areas at 1st base and hitting will greatly improve his overall game. Pitching wise, Dillion is a strike thrower. He shows average to slight above average command of 3 pitches with ability to throw off speed for strikes. He shows good tempo on the mound. He tends to short arm the ball, which decreases velocity. He also needs more explosion from lower half in order to add mph onto fastball.
