07/28/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Dillon showed at 1B plus on the mound for the first time at the event. He continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, power potential has improved through a closed / athletic setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and has strength in his swing with gap to gap pop. At 1B, defensive abilities have improved as he shows smooth / clean actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls but will benefit by playing through with his body. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 78-80 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break and shows potential as being a quality pitch. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is makes adjustments and is a great team player.

05/07/2017 - College PREP - River Forest (Chicago), IL Dillon is a lean, lanky 1B who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate, he shows as a switch hitter but projects best from the right side. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At 1B, he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active and he displays proper footwork around the bag. Glove action is soft /sure and he presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. With 2 years to further develop, Dillon has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
