09/05/2010 - College PREP - Plainfield, IN Dillon is a young, thin, 2-way player that plays OF and SS. He currently projects even at both positions as he enters his Sophomore year. In the OF, Dillon is aggressive to the ball and he makes plays. He tracks the ball well off the bat and aligns his body to his target. He will need to loosen his actions, avoid throwing against his body, and add arm strength in order to get better in the OF. In the INF, Dillon has average footwork and he makes plays on balls hit his way. He has a fairly soft glove and throws with decent carry to his target. INF abilities can further improve by playing through the ball, quickening his exchange, and loosening his arm action. Offensively, Dillon has good balance and a quiet approach. He puts the ball in play and has some feel to the opposite field. Hitting can get better by getting his front foot down sooner and quickening his bat speed.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
