Official Scouting Report

09/04/2020 - HS All-Region Tournament Dillon continues to shine on the diamond. At SS, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Throws are accurate with carry (84 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent hard contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 80 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with short break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

09/15/2019 - College PREP - Boise, ID Dillion is an athletic and talented 2021 2-way prospect. At SS, Dillion is on time with his prep step, he presents a low/early glove, and plays through the ball. He shows range on both sides of the glove with a clean backhand. He has a clean exchange and makes accurate throws. At the plate, Dillion loads his hands back into the drive position, he gets to balance, and hits off a firm front side. He keeps the ball inside the ball and shows gap to gap power. On the bump, Dillion gathers over the rubber, he separates on time, and has a clean arm action. He attacks the strike zone with his fastball, he has a medium break on his curveball, and has good run on his forkball. Dillion works fast and has a consistent downhill delivery. Dillion will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

09/16/2018 - College PREP - Boise, ID Dillon is a wirery SS prospect who will graduate in 2021. In the field, Dillon shows efficient footwork and is aggressive attacking the ball. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them on-line to his target. Dillon can improve defensively by making more accurate throws. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and works to barrel up the baseball. Dillon can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. With three more years to develop, Dillon has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
