04/15/2017 - College PREP - Hattiesburg, MS Dillon is a tall, athletic catcher who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 60 time of 7.37. Behind the plate, pop times showed a range of 2.10-2.19 as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Arm strength (84 mph velocity) is well above average with throws displaying life, accuracy, and on line carry through his target. Hands are soft / sure and he sticks balls in the zone. He shows off his athletic abilities through the blocking process as he is a wall behind the plate. Receiving / blocking skills show as tremendous tools that will play well at the next level. At the plate, he continues to shine through and open / balanced setup. He has strength (83 mph exit velocity) in his swing with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered. Barrel accuracy is a plus and he stays inside the ball, utilizing fields with gap-to-gap pop. Dillon has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
