07/29/2015 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 DJ is a lean, athletic 2B/RHP that will graduate in 2015. On the bump, fastball showed a range of 76-79 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but needs to develop more movement on the pitch. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to grow as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At 2B, feet are active as he works to squares balls up and fields out front. He moves well laterally, flashing range in the MIF. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he plays through balls while presenting hands more out front. At the plate he shows a closed setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered, mainly to the pull side. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to keep hands inside the ball. Mental makeup is a plus as he plays hard and is very coachable. DJ has abilities with a lot of room to improve.
