04/23/2017 - College PREP - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Dominic continues to show improvements. Foot speed has really improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved through a squared setup. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and shows good barrel accuracy. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is firm but will benefit by presenting more out front. Feet are active as he attacks balls, playing through well. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. Fastball shows a range of 70-73 mph. Breaking ball displays 3/9 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws the pitch too hard with velocity close to fastball. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

09/27/2015 - College PREP - Scranton, PA Dominic is a southpaw 2018 grad that projects on the mound and at 1B. On the mound, he works from a 3/4 arm slot with good direction and clean arm action. He does his best to keep hitters off balance with his 2-pitch mix (FB / CB) and will see more effectiveness by developing arm strength and a feel for his CH. At 1B, his hands are accurate with an above average transfer and “on the money” throw. As he works to improve pre pitch actions and foot speed, his defensive stock will rise. At the plate, this RHH hits with an open stance with some rhythm in his hands. He is aggressive to the ball with a contact swing and awareness of the strike zone. In all, Dominic is a player that is constantly going to work to make adjustments and has time on his side as he develops his skills on the diamond.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
