12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic (Ages 12-14) Don-Trae' is a coachable OF prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Winter Classic. In the field, Don-Trae' is aggressive attacking the ball and stays directional through the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields with a relaxed glove, working to keep his throws accurate to his target. Long tossing to build up his arm strength can help Don-Trae' improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a closed stance with comfortable hands. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to solid contact. Don-Trae' can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. Overall, Don-Trae' is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

08/05/2019 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Pirate City (Ages 12-14) Don-Trae is a lean, athletic OF who has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind but needs to play through more with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but he will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a closed setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. Working to get stride foot down sooner to be on time will aid in improving hitting abilities. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable. With 5 years to further develop, Don-Trae is a prospect that has a big upside with time and room to continue to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
