10/19/2019 - Mid Atlantic Regional Pitching/Catching & Offensive Skills Combined Weekend (Ages 12-14) Donaven is a RHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. On the mound, Donaven works with a quick arm and stays inline towards the plate. He shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 68mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 55-57mph. Changeup sits from 62-65mph with cutting and sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Being more controlled gathering to a balance point can help Donaven improve as a pitcher. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a square stance and works to barrel up the baseball, driving to his pull side. Donaven can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. With five more years to develop, Donaven has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Donaven shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 65mph with tailing action. Knuckle ball sits from 58-59mph with tumbling movement. Changeup sits from 58-59mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. In the field, Donaven makes the routine plays and works to keep his throws accurate to his target. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
