Doran continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks ball and plays through with his body. Hands are firm but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a closed setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 68 mph. Fastball shows a range of 66-68 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.
02/06/2022 - All-In Membership - Thousand Oaks, CA
Doran is a SS/RHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the diamond. In the field, Doran shows quick footwork and is agile covering ground. He gets into an athletic position and fields with soft hands. His exchange is quick and he makes consistent throws across the diamond. Long tossing can help Doran build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He works to barrel up the baseball and drives the ball to his pull side. Doran can create more consistent contact by maintaining center balance throughout his swing. On the mound, Doran gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a quick arm and stays inline toward the plate, finishing with his chest over his front knee. Doran operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 59mph with cutting action. Breaking ball sits from 50-52mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 51-53mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Extending through his release can help Doran improve his pitch command. Overall, Doran is a solid prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Doran is a 2026 2B/RHP. Small frame thin build with some strength present with plenty of time to fill out as he develops. Primary 2B stays in front of the baseball well and makes routine plays. Tracks ball well into glove with a low funnel. Throws from a 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity 57mph. Secondary RHP, who does a good job of gathering over rubber with good direction to plate. Young pitcher who incorporates lower half and competes on the mound. Doran throws a FB with slight movement, an 11/5 shaped CB, and a developing changeup. Doran needs to incorporate a long toss and J-band program to increase arm strength and accuracy. Right-handed hitter uses an upright and athletic stance. Simple load and balanced swing allows him to spray line drives to all fields. Continued growth and development should help him in his high baseball career and beyond.

Feet are active but needs to attack balls more and play through with his body. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, hitting / power potential have improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 52 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws too hard, resembling fastball. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

Doran is a young, 2-way player who plays 2nd base and RHP. Defensively, Doran has efficient footwork to the ball, he centers it well, and makes plays. He has a good 1st step, funnels properly, and throws with a short/accurate arm to his target. On the mound, Doran has good balance, he separates his hands on time, and he gets good arm extension toward home plate. He lands in a square position, finishes completely, and competes in the zone. Offensively, Doran has a square stance, a short stride, and he loads well. He has good hand eye coordination, a level swing, and he uses his lower body. Overall skills can continue to get better with work on the following.
