Official Scouting Report

08/02/2018 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown (Ages 12-14) Drew continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, he continues to show improvements, still showing as a switch hitter. He does project as a RHH where he had improved his hitting / power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At 2B, he displays proper footwork he works to square balls up. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls through a low approach. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but he will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a team player.

04/22/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Louisville, KY Drew showed improvements in his overall game during his last workout in Louisville. At 2nd base, Drew raised his fielding grade to 30 and arm to 28. He has efficient footwork to the ball, he fields squarely, and moves well to the backhand. Drew keeps the ball in front of his body, and throws with accuracy from a short arm action to his target. In the OF, Drew has active feet, he takes good angles to the ball, and he delivers the ball with accuracy to his target. At the plate, Drew is equally as good from both sides. From the right, Drew swings in good rhythm, he stands in well balanced, and makes consistent contact. From the left side, Drew uses his lower body, he can spray to all fields, and flashes a level bat path. Overall abilities will improve with work on the following.

Infield
1. Field with hands out in front
2. More athletic fielding position
3. Looser arm action
Outfield
1. Lower fielding position
2. Field out in front
3. Extend arm on throws
Hitting
1. Shorter swing path
2. Keep hands raised
3. More lower half

08/03/2017 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown (Ages 12-14) Drew is a hardworking 2B/OF prospect who has a versatile skill set and graduates in 2022. As a switch-handed hitter, Drew has a square stance with a centered balance. He takes a load with a square stride and is developing rhythm. Drew has an on-plane swing path and consistently lands the barrel to the baseball. He is a contact type hitter who has the ability to drive the ball to the opposite field. In the field, Drew plays with firm foot work and attacks the baseball. He has strong instincts and makes the routine plays. Drew has a clean exchange leading into a restricted arm action throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. Overall, Drew is a well-rounded prospect who has potential to improve his skills with development.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
