01/19/2015 - College PREP - Omaha, NE Drew is a young 2-way player as a 2B/RHP. With the bat, this RHH shows a balanced approach with an open stance. He remains selective, waiting for his pitch. Swing is level as he connects and is a contact type of hitter. At 2B, Drew works light on his feet with quick actions. He moves well laterally and squares up to the GB. Working from the ground-up will help to avoid getting the in-between hop. On the mound, this RHP has a 3-pitch mix coming from a high 3/4 arm slot. FB ranges from 61-64 mph while showing slight sink. Breaking ball is thrown for strikes consistently while showing 11/5 shape. More extension on his finish/follow through will help to improve effectiveness on all pitches. A 2017 grad - Drew still has a ton of time to develop his skills.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
