05/29/2017 - College PREP - Jupiter, FL Dylan is an intriguing young C/2B prospect. As a catcher, Dylan works behind the ball when receiving, he is directional with his feet when he throws, and displayed a strong arm on his throws to second. If he continues to work on anticipating off speed pitches in the dirt, leading with his glove to block, and controlling the ball with his chest will allow him to become a better blocker. At 2B, Dylan has a good backhand, makes accurate throws, and creates good angles to the ball. Fielding the ball in front of his body, and controlled firm flips to second on double plays, will allow him to become a more consistent fielder. At the plate, Dylan shows a square setup with smooth rhythm. He has a consistent load, uses the lower half and creates hard pull contact. Continuing to drive through the ball by creating extension will help power to rise. Only a 2020 grad - Dylan has tools with upside.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
