01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Dylan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities at the Preseason Rookie event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a crouched setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing as he maintains balance. In the OF, defensive are solid as he displays smooth, clean actions. Feet are active as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He reads balls well off the bat and works to get behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target. Range will continue to improve as he continues to improve foot quickness. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date, topping out at 73 mph. Fastball showed a range of 70-73 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for pitch with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

03/13/2021 - Spring Pro Training Experience - MD (MS) Dylan is an athletic OF/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Spring Pro Training Experience. In the field, Dylan works behind the ball well and makes the routine plays. He gains ground on his throws and keeps them accurate/strong through his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He gets his hands activated on time and hits against a strong front side. He works through a smooth swing with fast bat speed, leading to consistent contact and gap to gap power. On the mound, Dylan gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and accelerates through his release, keeping his pitches around the zone. Dylan shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 72mph. Breaking ball displays 12-6 break. Overall, Dylan is a talented prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

02/15/2021 - All-In Membership - Gambrills, MD Dylan is a lean OF who has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Feet are active as he works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. With 4 years to further develop, Dylan has potential with time and room to improve his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
