12/20/2019 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Dylan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and have a promising future on the diamond. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. In the OF, defensive abilities are now solid as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are quick / aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. He has some strength in his swing with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered. At the event, he was 3 for 7 with a 2B. On the mound, he has a good overall delivery, a good arm action, and he rotates his hips through to his target. He stands over the rubber well, is around the plate with all of his pitches. Fastball showed a range of 74-76 mph with arm side run and is sneaky fast. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Control is well above average as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.
