07/12/2013 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition - Session 1 Dylan is a RHP/3B that will graduate in 2016. Delivery is sound, repeatable, allowing his loose / quick arm action to work well to the plate. He shows an aggressive tempo with fastball showing a range of 65-68 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as more arm strength is gained through a long toss program. At 3B, feet are active as he works to square balls up, displaying clean hands. He needs to play through balls more while presenting hands more out front to continue to improve defensive grade. At the plate, he shows a balanced setup with rhythm. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. Power numbers will continue to increase as he learns to use his lower half more. He is an aggressive base runner, displaying plus instincts. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a hard worker with a great attitude. With 3 years to further develop, Dylan has abilities with time and room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
