08/01/2021 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (HS) Dylan is a 2023 RHP/OF prospect who worked hard on his skills during the National World Series at Pirate City. A right-handed pitcher, he has a confident demeanor and some feel for pitching. He starts 45 degrees on the rubber and glove is centered. Clean leg lift, with a good balance point, and separates his hands on time. Works with good direction down the mound and extends out front. Throws a FB that sat 78-80mph with some arm side run, a 10/4 shaped breaking ball that he throws for strikes, and a changeup he throws with fastball arm speed. He fields his position well and does a good job of controlling the run game. In 5 innings of work, he punched out 4 batters and only allowed 1 hit. A right-handed hitter, he showed a flat barrel path and made hard contact to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 90mph during BP. Strong kid and the ball jumps off his barrel. In live game action, he was 5 for 7 with 2 triples, a double, 2 singles, and a base on balls. In the OF, he showed a loose arm, with a low 3/4 arm slot, and accurate throws into infield with an arm velocity up to 79mph. With continued growth and development, we foresee Dylan having a bright future on the baseball field.

06/18/2021 - Baseball Factory All-State Tournament (HS) Dylan is an OF/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2023. Good frame athletic build and room to add more strength. In the OF, starts with active feet and aggressive routes to ground balls. Square fielding position, with a short arm action, and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. Accurate/on-line throws, with a quick release, into infield at 79mph. At the plate, he sets up with an open and athletic stance. Short/square stride as he hits into a firm front side and makes hard contact. Ability to backspin balls into both gaps with a bat exit velocity of 86mph. In live game action, Dylan showed competitive at bats. With continued growth and development, we foresee him having the opportunity to play at the next level.

09/04/2020 - HS All-Region Tournament Dylan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a tall, open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent hard contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 79 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with short break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

01/17/2020 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 14-18) Dylan is a tall 3B/RHP that will graduate in 2023. At 3B, Dylan shows an athletic pre-pitch with active feet as he works to the ball and works behind the ball. He fields the ball out in front making clean exchanges to throw. He gets rid of the ball quick with a loose arm action delivering accurate throws. Hitting, Dylan shows a relaxed and tall stance with low and comfortable hands. As he starts his swing, he gets his foot down on time firing his lower half through getting the barrel on plane. He makes consistent contact with a line drive approach looking to do damage every pitch. On the mound, Dylan shows a 3-pitch mix with a FB/CB/CH. The FB shows a high command percentage, the CB is 11-5 with medium break, and the CH is deceptive with AS run and FB arm speed. Pitching, Dylan starts with a simple starter step and gathers over the rubber separating on time with a clean arm action. He keeps his stride in line and gets good length but can improve by finishing more in front of his body. Dylan is young and will continue to grow and mature.

05/26/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Keizer (Salem), OR Dylan is a big, athletic, 2-way player who plays 3B and RHP. Defensively, Dylan has active feet, good pre-pitch actions, and he fields the ball in a square position. He has a clean exchange and a long arm action with consistency across the diamond. On the mound, Dylan has good balance, some glove side lead, and he is around the zone with his pitches. At the plate, Dylan has an athletic set-up, good balance, and he gets solid extension through the hitting zone. He has strength in his swing, and hits hard to the pull side. Dylan can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
