04/09/2017 - College PREP - Costa Mesa (Los Angeles), CA Dylan is a lanky, lean OF/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.02. At the plate he shows a tall setup with balance. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work to and through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. In the OF, he displays smooth / clean actions. He utilizes his feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles and utilizes two hands well through the fielding process. He is aggressive but needs to work to get behind balls more to play through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he utilizes his foot speed to cover a lot of ground. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 75-77 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sinking action and shows a solid feel for pitch. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 2 years to further develop, Dylan has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
