03/25/2018 - College PREP - Madison (NYC), NJ Dylan continues to shine on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a solid runner at 7.39. At the plate is where he has improved the most through an open / athletic setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through a compact swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he shows smooth clean actions. He displays proper footwork in creating proper angles in attacking and playing through balls with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program.

07/11/2016 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition - Session 1 Dylan continues to improve and impress as a 2 way player with each event that he attends. A primary shortstop, Dylan shows great confidence at the position starting with his reliable feet that move smoothly, sure hands, and an accurate arm. At the plate (a switch hitter), Dylan has a direct route to the ball and uses his hips and hands to be a reliable hitter with good pop from the left side. He will show more consistency from both sides of the plate by striding directly toward the pitcher and getting his hands into a good launch position. On the hill, with a high 3/4 arm angle, Dylan shows good control with his 4 seam fastball (65-68 mph) and a 10-4 curveball that also is thrown with good control. Dylan is a gamer that continues to improve every time he steps onto the field.

03/06/2016 - National Tryout Plus - Hightstown, NJ Dylan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the MIF, defensive abilities have improved as well, displaying smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to square balls up and displays clean hands. Glove action is soft / sure as he presents well out front. At the plate he shows as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. Power will increase as he adds overall body strength. On the mound, FB ranges from 65-67 mph. Breaking ball has 11/5 downward shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but needs to develop more movement on pitch. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. Dylan has abilities with time and room to continue to progress his game.

07/14/2015 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 White showed on at 2B at the event and continues to show steady play in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the MIF, he communicates well and makes the routine plays. He shows a clean arm action with arm grade improving as he builds more strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup with rhythm. He tracks the ball well and rotates his lower half well as he makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

01/16/2015 - Baseball Factory Spring Training at the Yankees Training Complex Dylan is a 2019 grad that projects as a middle infielder and RHP. Defensively, Dylan showed some quickness/body control with the ability to square/body up balls. He makes the routine plays with good lateral quickness. Being more aggressive to play through the ball and having his hands more out front will help his defensive grades to improve. At the plate, this lefty hits with an athletic, balanced, square setup with smooth hands. He has an aggressive approach at the plate with some bat speed. Getting more lower half drive and working on the finish to his swing will be key to his development. On the bump, Dylan gathers himself over the rubber with smooth separation, loose arm action and excellent direction towards the plate. He set a good tempo from 60 ft 6 inches as he filled up the zone with a 2 pitch mix. He also showed a calmness on the mound to get out of tough situations. As Dylan continues to grow and mature physically/mentally, he will see his abilities take a leap to the next level tier. He has a bulldog attitude, is a hard worker, and is a great teammate.

12/14/2014 - Interactive Video Program - Madison (NYC), NJ Dylan is a young 2-way player as a SS/RHP. Defensively at SS, he shows active pre-pitch footwork and moves well around the ground ball. He has a clean transfer/exchange and makes accurate throws to 1B. With the bat, White displays an open stance with rhythm to load. He swings on a level path and sprays the ball to all parts of the field. On the mound, this RHP throws a FB & CH from a high 3/4 arm slot. Arm works free & clean as he gets good glove-side lead. FB tops out at 59 mph as he works the ball to both sides of the plate. Overall abilities will improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
