05/19/2019 - Accelerated College PREP - Poughkeepsie, NY Dylan is a tall RHP/1B prospect who will graduate in 2021. On the mound, Dylan gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and finishes with his chest over his front knee. Dylan shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 80mph. Breaking ball sits from 60-62mph with late 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 67-69mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Taking a longer stride can help Dylan improve as a pitcher. In the field, Dylan shows active footwork and covers ground well. He gets into an athletic position and fields with soft hands. He makes a quick exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to his target. Dylan can improve defensively by consistently playing under control. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a square stride. He shows a smooth rhythm and takes a level swing, leading to sold contact to his pull side. Working more of a load into his swing can help Dylan improve as a hitter. Overall, Dylan is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
