07/18/2024 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC Easton is an excellent 5ft 9/155 catcher & RHP in the 2029 class. Behind the plate, he shows athleticism and keeps his thumb under the pitch. Stays square to the baseball and gains ground on his throws. Registered a 2.34 pop and arms has life and accuracy at 72 velo. Creates a soft chest on his blocks and is quick to recover with 7.52 speed. On the mound, he likes to pitch to contact and is around the zone. He struck out 3 batters in 3 innings of work by using a 2-pitch mis from a 3 qtr slot. His FB sat 66-8 and his CB ranged 62-3 with 10-4 shape. Working to maintain his mechanics on the initial pitch to a hitter will allow him to get ahead and create more out pitches. At the plate, he shows an excellent eye and strike zone discipline. He collected 4 walks in 7 PA. He has quick hands and swings with the intent to do damage. Overall, he plays above grade level and impressed scouts in all phases of his game.

06/03/2024 - National Showcase - Newnan, GA Easton is a strong, athletic C/RHP who is a prospect on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking, centering balls out front. Pop times showed in 2.34 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss. At the plate, he shows a tall, squared setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach, flashing gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 65-70 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sink. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 5 years to further develop, Easton has a lot of potential and will get looks from the college coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
