04/05/2024 - The Preseason All-Ripken Games - Myrtle Beach EJ performed well at the plate, on the mound and at 1B during the All-Ripken Games. His left-handed stroke is balanced with an aggressive approach - he sees a fastball he likes early in the count, and he attacks it! He has some natural rhythm to his stroke that allow him to time pitches well. We think that striding square to the pitcher will help the consistency of his contact and allow him to cover the entire plate consistently. At 1B he reads hops well and provides a good target while showing solid footwork both fielding ground balls and around the bag. On the mound, EJ has good tempo and found a way to miss barrels for most of his outing. He has a shorter arm path that adds to some deception and flashed a solid pick-off move and his fastball touched 50 mph. More lower half in his delivery and an improved finish/follow through will add to his velocity in the future and help to improve command. Overall, EJ is an intriguing 2-way prospect with the potential for an impact bat.
