Official Scouting Report

  • 1B/RHPPosition Projection

12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory East Coast Winter Classic Eli is a 2030 1B/RHP who showcased his skills during the BF East Coast Winter Classic. At 1B he shows good footwork around the bag with ability to scoop balls. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 59mph. A right-handed pitcher who works exclusively from the stretch. He attacks hitters with a FB that sits 54-58mph, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball, and a developing changeup. In 1 inning of work, he struck out 1 hitter and only allowed 1 hit. At the plate he hits from an upright and square stance with high hands. He does a good job of tracking baseball with good takes. In live game action, he reached base 3 times with a single, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. With continued growth and development, we foresee Eli making huge strides on the baseball field.

09/24/2023 - National Showcase - Glen Allen (Richmond), VA Eli is a 1B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2030. A young/developing player with strength present and plenty of room to add throughout. At 1B he starts with a good prep-step and plays with good effort/energy. Works into a low fielding position with good glove actions and hands out front. Made accurate throws to second base from a high 3/4 arm slot, with good carry, and an arm velocity up to 56mph. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on-time. He works with good direction and lands square to his target. He attacks hitters with a FB that sits 46-52mph with plus command, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball, and a changeup with sinking action that he throws with FB arm speed. CB was best pitch during his bullpen session. At the plate he hits from an athletic and square stance. An on-time stride with a simple approach. A short barrel path allows him to hit balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 62mph. With 3 years of continued growth and development before he enters high, we foresee Eli having a bright future on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
