12/11/2022 - National Showcase - San Antonio, TX Eli is a SS/RHP who will graduate in 2023. Medium frame athletic build with strength present and room to add throughout. At SS, he takes aggressive routes to batted balls, with active feet, and showed good body control at baseball. He works from down to up and shows ability to pick out hops with a low funnel. Showed a glove angle with hands out front. Has a long arm stroke in back as he throws from a high 3/4 arm slot coming forward, with an arm velocity up to 88mph, and showed ability to make throws on the run. On the mound, he picks up his target early and throws with intent. He gathers over the rubber, with a clean leg lift, and has a quick/clean arm stroke. Was coachable and made adjustments. Attacks hitters with a FB that sits 78-79mph with plus command, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball that he throws with good arm speed, and a changeup with arm side run that he throws with FB arm speed. CH was best pitch during his bullpen session. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and open stance. He showed quick hands, with late bat whip, and gets extended out front of baseball. He delivers the barrel to contact point as he hit line drives. With another year of growth and development, we foresee Eli having a bright future on the baseball field.

07/10/2022 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (HS) Eli is an athletic 2023 SS/RHP out of Round Rock, TX who showed well during the Cape Cod Training and Competition. In the field, Eli shows smooth actions, with quick/efficient footwork, and moves well laterally. He works from right to left as he centers the baseball and has a good glove angle with a quick/clean exchange. Showed ability to throw from multiple arm slots, with good carry across diamond, and had an arm velocity up to 86mph. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and open stance with a comfortable hand set. He keeps his weight between his knees and rotates his lower half to contact point. During his round of BP, he gets on-plane early and gets extended through the baseball. He hit hard line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 84mph. In live game action, he had a single and reached on a base on balls. On the mound, he works with good tempo and is aggressive in the zone. Eli gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a quick/clean arm stroke and gets his chest over his front knee. He attacks hitters with a fastball with arm side run, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with plus command, and a developing changeup. Overall, Eli is a hard working player who has the skillset to further develop on the baseball field.

05/15/2022 - All-In Membership - Waco, TX Eli is a SS/RHP who will graduate in 2023. Medium frame lean build with strength present and room to add throughout. At SS, showed athletic actions, with quick footwork, and has good body control at the baseball. Works from right to left and has a low funnel with soft hands out front. Showed ability to pick out hops and has good glove actions. Made accurate/on-line throws consistently from a high 3/4 arm slot, with a quick release, and an arm velocity up to 86mph. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber, with a good hip coil, and separates his hands on time. He works with good tempo and has a good mound presence. He throws a FB that sits 77-79mph with slight sinking action, a 10/4 shaped breaking ball that flashes tight spin, and a changeup with good movement that he throws with FB arm speed. CH was best pitch during his bullpen. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and open stance. Lower half driven swing, with quickness to hands, and showed good patience at the plate. A direct barrel path enables him to square up baseballs to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 81mph. With another year of continued growth and development, we see this 2-way player having a bright future on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
