12/27/2022 - National Showcase - San Marcos (San Diego), CA Eli is a C prospect who will graduate in 2028. A young/developing player with strength present and plenty of room to add throughout. At C, he showed an easy sit and showed good agility. Works his glove from the ground up and beats ball to spot while keeping pitches in the strike zone. He replaces his feet as he works with good direction towards second base. Throws from an over-the-top arm slot with an arm velocity up to 70mph and a best pop time of 2.25 seconds. A right-handed hitter, he hits from an athletic and even stance. Starts with knob to C and has smooth timing as he rotates to contact point. A direct barrel path enables him to hit line drives consistently into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 78mph. With 5 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Eli having a bright future on the baseball diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
