09/16/2012 - College PREP - Santa Barbara, CA Eliceo is a R/R second basemen that will graduate in 2013. He has an athletic build and has well above average speed running a 6.94 sixty. Defensively, he has soft hands and a clean exchange. His footwork is fluid/active/effective and he has agile range. He gets in an athletic fielding position with weight distributed on the balls of his feet. He needs to work on playing through the ball. His throws come from the high 3/4 arm slot with consistent accuracy and short arm action. He has a tendency to push his throws and does not get extended or use his lower half. His body control and presentation are great with good glove work. A throwing program will greatly help his arm strength. Offensively, Eliceo has an athletic/crouched setup and flashes of fast bat speed. He has a short swing path and is a line-drive type hitter. Utilizing his lower half, implementing some form of a load, and finding some rhythm and timing throughout the swing will help improve his hitting grades. Overall, he has some good raw ability and in a baseball enriched environment will be able to improve and help a program.
