12/03/2023 - National Showcase - Sacramento, CA Elijah is a 2028 1B/LHP prospect with a strong frame at 5'8" 170 pounds. At first, he shows off solid footwork and moves well to all angles with impressive range. He does a great job of attacking the baseball and being aggressive on ground balls. He fields in an athletic position with his hands out in front. He has good bag awareness and can pick it. His exchange is clean and he does a good job of staying accurate with his throws. The left handed hitter starts in a squared stance and gets a good load. He does well to keep his balance centered and he shows off impressive bat speed and quick hands. He works hard to keep his bat on a level plane. His hips explode through contact and the ball really jumps off of his bat. He finishes strong with his backside and he makes consistent, hard contact. On the mound, he has good balance and a quiet motion. He keeps his eyes direct to his target and does a great job of staying squared to the plate. He does well to rotate to his target and pivot his back foot when finishing. His FB shows solid arm side run and he has good feel for the strike zone with his breaking ball. He does a nice job of throwing his CH with FB arm speed. Elijah is an exciting prospect that we are looking forward to seeing more of as he continues to develop!

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
