01/15/2010 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America - 2010 Eric played a good 2B during his time at the UA Preseason All-America. He is a strong, quick player with good baseball instincts. At 2B, his hands and feet are good, and he arm is accurate and effective. Eric has a good presence in the INF, and he fields the baseball well in front of his body. He is a tough player that also can turn the double play nicely. Work on his backhand will only help improve Eric's overall defensive skills. Offensively, Eric has good bat speed and squares the ball up well on the barrel of the bat. He has strength at the plate mostly to the pull side. If Eric can lower his elbow, level off his swing, and avoid flying open, we could see Eric's offensive numbers continue to rise.

08/03/2009 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ Eric continues to show a lot of improvement in his baseball abilities. Arm strength has improved to solid average through a quick arm action and low arm slot. He gets rid of the baseball as his hands and feet work well together through the throwing process. He will benefit by getting on a speed / agility program to aid in improving foot quickness for the next level. At the plate is where Anderson has improved the most, now showing near above average abilities with solid average power. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level approach. Power numbers will continue to increase as he learns to utilize his lower half more efficiently through the swing.

07/25/2009 - Team One North 2009 Eric was 1-4 as he hit 3 balls hard and made all the plays hit to him throughout the weekend. At 2B, athletic fluid actions showed quick feet with ability to play from the right. Played out front with soft hands that allowed for quick exchange. At the plate, had good balance throughout the swing. Used all fields with most hits right up the middle while showing some extension after contact.

10/19/2008 - ACR-E - Maryland - 11 Eric had an outstanding workout by improving his 60-time, arm grade, and fielding grade. At 2B, had a good presentation while looking the part. Was clean thru out with athletic actions especially on slow roller. Had a clean DP turn with great pivot with quick release. Followed flips on each DP feed. Long toss will help improve velo. At the plate, had an up-the-middle approach which showed with level path and ability to center ball. Utilized his lower half well. Relaxed hands will produce quick muscles with direct path to hitting zone.

06/19/2008 - Omaha Pro Select Training and Tournament - 2008 Anderson showed as a solid and capable defensive player. His hands were good, as was his fielding position and he showed excellent body control. Can work to improve arm strength more than anything else at this point defensively. At the plate, he hit from a solid approach. His stride was quiet and soft, allowing him to maintain good balance as he tracked the ball. Can work to be more aggressive, both in terms of swinging at strikes and in terms of working the bat through the zone with more life - bat speed and overall strength has room for improvement. Overall, a solid all around player with some feel for the game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
