01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Eric continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities at the Pre-season All American event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.35 runner. At 3B, defensive abilities have improved as he shows smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through with his body, gaining ground. Hands are clean and presents out front. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. At the plate, hitting / power potential is now excellent through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 81-84 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Eric will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities, possibly as a two-way player.

05/15/2022 - All-In Membership - Palmetto, FL Eric is a RHP/3B in the class of 2023 out of Ponte Vedra, FL. Defensively, he had active feet allowing him to cover ground and get square to the baseball. He makes the routine plays while showing off a strong arm across the diamond to first base. At the plate, he uses a slightly closed stance with a square stride to deliver the barrel on time with his head staying down through contact. He showed off strong power to the pull side but could benefit from staying inside the baseball with his hands to create whip with the bat to work all fields. On the mound, he had good mechanics by gathering over the rubber and separating on time with a controlled landing while finishing over his front knee. He worked a 3 pitch mix of a fastball with tail at 84 mph, a tight breaking ball and change up with run. Eric is a good prospect who we believe has the make up to get to the next level if he continues to put in the work.

11/21/2021 - All-In Membership - Daytona Beach, FL Eric is a class of 2023 RHP/1B. He features a large build with plenty of room to continue to fill out his frame. In the field, he does a good job playing beneath the baseball and fielding from the ground up. Works downhill and shows the ability to get his eyes behind the backhand. Shows good bag awareness and footwork around the bag. At the plate, he hits from a tall stance. He does a good job getting his lower activated and shows the ability to hit into a firm front side. Barrel gets on plane early and extends through the baseball. Made very loud contact and showed big time power potential with exit velos as high as 77 MPH. On the mound, he does a good job getting to a good balance point and working downhill. Shows off a very good arm action with a high arm slot. Throws 3 pitches for strikes. Fastball was up to 79 MPH and had slight tailing action. Also showed a 11-5 shaped breaking ball to go along with a changeup that he can throw for strikes. Eric is a very good prospect that we hope to see again in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
