07/17/2010 - College PREP - Costa Mesa (Los Angeles), CA Eric participated in Team One West as a Catcher and he did a nice job behind the plate. Defensively, Eric has a solid base, he holds a low target, and he moves well laterally. He blocks and receives the ball well, he has quick feet, and a good transfer. Abilities behind the plate and get better with looser actions and improved accuracy to his target. Offensively, Eric is a strong hitter with a quiet head and good bat speed. He has power into the gaps and can work the ball to all fields. Hitting numbers can spike with a leveled off swing and more use of his lower 1/2.

05/02/2010 - College PREP - Boise, ID Eric is a SS with an athletic look that is well suited for his position. Foot speed is solid average as indicated by his 7.23 60 time as he utilizes his quick, athletic feet well in coming to get, playing through the baseball with hands / feet. He takes proper angles and displays solid range with soft, sure hands in making all the plays. Throws display life, carry, and accuracy across the diamond. Offensively, Nikssarian shows a balance approach that allows his hands to work directly to the baseball, flashing bat speed. He uses his lower half well, displaying a solid feel for the barrel but gets uphill at times. Eric has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
