09/26/2021 - All-In Membership - Lansing, KS Erickson is a SS prospect who will graduate in 2025. Medium frame lean build with some present strength and room to add more strength. In the infield, he starts with active/efficient feet who takes aggressive routes to baseball. Showed smooth actions in the field, with good agility, and ability to create good fielding angles. Fields out front from an athletic/square fielding position, with soft hands, and creates momentum to his target. Made accurate/on-line throws, with a quick release, and an arm velocity up to 68mph. Showed good touch on his DP feeds. Has huge upside with continued development. At the plate, this switch hitter hits from a squared and athletic stance from both sides of the plate. From the left side, he rotates hips thru the baseball and showed good barrel control. A direct barrel path enables him to hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 74mph. From the right side, he takes an aggressive swing and has quick hands. Showed a fast barrel through hitting zone as he hit balls hard to the pull side during BP. With 4 years of continued growth and development, Erickson has a huge upside and a bright future on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
