08/01/2024 - All-Ripken Games - Myrtle Beach, SC Ericsson had a solid performance at All-Ripken Games Myrtle Beach. The RHP was competitive on the mound for his team recording his fastball speed between 64-67MPH. As Ericsson continues to develop, he should look to keep his lower/upper half connected on the mound to help improve his velocity and command. His breaking ball was clocked at 58-60mph. At the plate, Ericsson showed plus hitting technique and the ability to get the barrel to the ball. His setup is athletic with a slightly open frame and continue to keep his top hand strong through the zone for best results. Defensively, he showed an ability to get a jump/read on balls with plus instincts.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
