01/16/2015 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Erik is a talented young two-way player as a SS/RHP. In the field he shows a quality arm with good carry, and consistent accuracy allowing him to make plays to the backhand side. At the plate he shows quality hands, allowing him to get the barrel to the baseball consistently. On the mound Eric is able to hide the baseball well, and shows a natural feel for pitching. Erik showed the ability to get outs while on the mound, he also showed good/consistent tempo while being able to field his position well.

09/27/2014 - Interactive Video Program - Bellevue (Seattle), WA Erik is a skilled 2-way player as a SS/RHP. Defensively, this INF hustles into position behind the ground ball. He funnels smoothly, tracking the ball into his mitt. He has a clean exchange and makes accurate throws. With the bat, this RHH shows a quiet setup with simple actions. He is a contact type hitter and squares the ball up. On the bump, Erik has a 3-pitch mix coming from a 3/4 arm slot. FB shows arm-side run topping out at 60 mph. Breaking ball has 12/6 shape with sharp action. He drives off the rubber and works in-line toward the dish. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
