06/20/2015 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 Mitchell continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a well above average runner at 7.16. At 2B, defensive grade has improved, displaying smooth / clean actions. He utilizes his quick feet in his lateral movements, displaying range in the MIF. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he attacks balls more while presenting hands more out front. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He shows a simple approach and makes consistent contact as he works to stay inside the ball to utilize all fields. At the event, he was 4 for 12. Once on base, he is aggressive and will take the extra base, showing great instincts. Mental makeup is a plus as he is great team player and carries himself in a positive manner with high energy. He is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

12/07/2014 - College PREP - Sacramento, CA Erik is an athletic MIF who can swing it. At the plate, this RHH shows a balanced approach with rhythm to load. Swing is level on a short/direct path as he connects and drives the ball with pop. He utilizes his lower 1/2 well and finishes with extension. Defensively at 2B, he shows active pre-pitch footwork as he hustles around the GB. Backhand is smooth with a clean/quick exchange to throw. Erik is a top of the line-up type of guy with his ability to consistently square the ball up. Only a 2017 grad - he has a bright future ahead of him in the game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
