10/13/2021 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic Ethan is a SS/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2025. Good frame athletic build with projectability and room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.97 60-yard dash. At SS, starts with active/efficient footwork and ability to pick out hops. Creates good fielding angles and ability to play through the ball. Show some softness in his hands and fields the ball out front with a low funnel. Throws from multiple arm slots, with accurate/on-line throws, across diamond and an arm velocity of 75mph. Displayed nice touch on DP feeds and a 2 hand pivot on DP. Right-handed pitcher who works downhill and in-line to target. Good balance who stays tall on the backside with a quick arm. Showed plus command on his pitches. 3 pitch pitcher whose FB topped out at 75mph, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with medium break and showed feel for a changeup. Right-handed hitter begins with an athletic and open stance. Ability to stay inside the ball with good extension. Aggressive approach with ability to hit line drives to all fields. In live game action, Ethan reached base 5 times including a double and a bat exit velocity of 86mph. With continued growth and development, we can see Ethan having opportunities to play at the next level.

02/15/2021 - All-In Membership - Parker (Denver), CO Ethan is a lean SS/3B who has a bright future on the diamond. In the IF, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls but needs to play through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a closed setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 4 years to further develop, Ethan has potential with time and room to progress his game.

02/23/2020 - Interactive Video Program - Parker (Denver), CO Ethan is a SS/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2025. In the field, Ethan shows active footwork and covers ground well. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gains ground well on his throws, keeping them on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting back into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He gets good extension through the ball and produces consistent contact and line drives. On the mound, Ethan gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works inline towards the plate and extends through his release, finishing with a controlled landing. Ethan shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 63mph. Knuckle ball sits from 46-48mph. Change-up sits from 45-47mph. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
