01/12/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Ethan is a 2026 RHP/1B who showcased his talents at the BF Pre-Season All-America Tournament. At 1B, he has a effective footwork and gets into an athletic fielding position. Ethans large frame gives fielders a good target and allows him to cover a lot of ground. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and has accurate throws around the infield. At the plate, he has an athletic stance and an activated load. Ethan has a strong lower ½ and good bat speed. He is aggressive at the plate and swings with intent. In the games, Ethan had a single and proved to be a tough out for pitchers. On the mound, Ethan showed a fastball that sat 75-79 mph and was able to throw for a strike. He mixed that well with a curveball with good break that he was able to throw in all counts. He did a good job of working his off-speed low in the zone that forced soft contact. He picked up 3 strikeouts in his outing. With several years of growth and development, we foresee that Ethan will continue to grow as both a hitter and pitcher.

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Ethan is a 2026 RHP/1B who showcased his skills during the BF Rookie PSAA Tournament. At 1B, he presents a big target at first base and showed good bag awareness. He showed a clean transfer as he made throws to second base from a high 3/4 arm slot and arm velocity up to 78mph. On the mound, he has long levers and a projectible frame. He starts with a small rocker step and keeps his eyes on target. He attacks hitters with a FB topping out at 73mph, a 10/4 shaped breaking ball, and a developing changeup. At the plate, he sets up in an upright and open stance with high hands. Starts with a controlled glide step and showed ability to deliver the barrel. Hit balls hard into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 75mph. In live games, Ethan reached base 3 times with 2 singles, and a base on balls. Ethan is a good player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
