08/17/2011 - Interactive Video Program - South Williamsport, PA Ethan is a young 2-way player as a OF / LHP. Defensively, Ethan has active feet, he works behind the ball well, and his hands are soft and sure. He has athletic actions, he fields in an athletic position, and his exchange is clean. Ethan has a long / loose arm action and he throws with accuracy and carry to his target. On the mound, Ethan has a long / free arm action, a tall balance point, and good glove tuck. He has on-time separation, level shoulders, and good direction toward home. Ethan has a still head, a repeatable delivery, and he is around the zone with his pitches. Offensively, Ethan has a square / athletic set-up, a proper load, and a short stride. He has good balance, fast bat speed, and he gets his lower 1/2 through. Ethan swings in good rhythm and he hits hard to the pull side. Offensive and defensive abilities can improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
