01/12/2018 - 2018 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Ethan is an athletic SS prospect who continued to show well at the All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. In the field, Ethan makes the routine plays and makes accurate, on-line throws across the diamond. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a crouched stance and takes a short stride. He gets into his load and comes through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed which leads to solid line drives. Ethan is a skilled prospect who has upside on the diamond.

10/29/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Santa Rosa, CA Ethan is a talented, SS/OF with an advanced skill set. Defensively at SS, he takes quick angles/cuts as he works into an athletic fielding position on GB's. He makes tough backhand plays, has a quick exchange and makes accurate throws to his target. In the OF, he shows active footwork as he tracks down hard-hit fly balls. He's aggressive to the GB and makes on-line throws to his cut-off man. As a hitter, Ethan displays an athletic setup with smooth rhythm to load. His lower 1/2 stays firm as he whips his barrel on a direct path fast through the zone and drives pitches from gap to gap. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Infield
1. Prep step
2. Develop soft hands
3. Work around GB
Outfield
1. Quicker feet
2. Work behind the fly ball
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Offense
1. Front foot timing
2. Load more in hands
3. Stay balanced

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
