08/01/2021 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (HS) Ethan is a 2023 hard-working RHP/3B prospect out of Mt. Enterprise, TX who showed well during the National World Series at Pirate City. On the mound, Ethan works exclusively from the stretch. He separates his hands on time, with clean arm action, and strides in line to target. He attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 82mph with arm side run and an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with medium break. In 4 innings of work, he struck out 5 batters and threw over 50% of his pitches for strikes. In the field, his arm was on display with with accurate/on-line throws across the diamond. At the plate, this right-handed hitter hits from an athletic and open stance. Displayed strength in swing with natural lift and an aggressive approach. In live game action, Ethan reached base 4 times with a single, 2 base on balls, and a hit by pitch. Overall, Ethan is a talented 2-way prospect who has the skillset to contribute at the next level.

06/18/2021 - Baseball Factory All-State Tournament (HS) Ethan is a RHP prospect who will graduate in 2023. Tall frame athletic build. On the mound, he works exclusively from the stretch and he showed good balance until finish. Keeps his eyes on target throughout delivery and works downhill. Good sink on his FB that sat 79-82mph. Throws a CH with FB arm speed and good sink through the strike zone. In 4 innings of work, Ethan struck out 6 batters and threw 65% of his pitches for strikes. At the plate, this right handed hitter sets up in an athletic and open stance. Good separation as he gets knob to C and gets extension through contact. Hit balls into both gaps with a bat exit velocity of 81mph. Showed a good eye and reached base 3 times in live game action. Ethan is 2023 prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field with continued development.

09/12/2020 - Fall Pro Training Experience - TX (HS) Ethan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, hitting/power potential has improved through an open setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. At 3B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth actions. Feet are active as he works to square balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 80 mph. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with late/sharp break and shows as a quality pitch that will get outs. Ethan has a bright future ahead of himself and we look forward to seeing what it holds.

09/06/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Frisco (DFW), TX Ethan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, hitting/power potential has improved through a tall open setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through on his release, staying inline towards the plate. He shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 77 mph. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed with arm side run.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Ethan is a RHP/3B prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. On the mound, Ethan gathers over the rubber and shows fluid hand separation. He works with a clean arm and stays inline towards the plate, finishing with his chest over his front knee. Ethan shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 78mph. Breaking ball sits from 60-61mph with 11-5 break. In the field, Ethan makes the routine plays and gets rid of the ball quickly, working to keep his throws accurate to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a centered stride. He gets into his load on time and takes a level swing, leading to solid contact. Overall, Ethan is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

07/06/2018 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (Ages 12-14) Ethan pitched and played 3rd base during his time at the Cape. He showed improvements at both positions as well as at the plate. On the mound, Ethan has a clean arm action, he keeps his eyes on target, and works well to his balance point. He has a controlled landing toward home plate, lands in a square position, and he increased his velocity to 71 MPH. Defensively, Ethan has efficient footwork, he moves well to the ball, and keeps it in front of his body; throwing with strength to his target. At the plate, Ethan has athletic actions, he swings in good rhythm, and stands in well balanced. He has fast bat speed, a direct barrel to the ball, and makes square/consistent contact. Ethan is very coachable and a team player who makes adjustments.

02/18/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Tyler, TX Ethan is a young, solid, 2-way player who pitches and plays 3B. On the mound, Ethan has raw abilities showing some balance and on time separation. He has good direction toward home, keeps his eyes on target, and is around the zone with his pitches. At 3B, Ethan attacks the ball aggressively, he keeps the ball in front of his body, and has a clean arm action with consistency across the diamond. At the plate, Ethan has a square set-up, a good base, and he makes contact. He has a good bat angle, and hits it hard to the pull side. Ethan can get better with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
