01/18/2019 - 2019 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Ethan is a tall, solid 1B/LHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At 1B, he displays clean/smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is soft/sure and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves his foot quickness. At the plate he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Hitting abilities will continue to improve as he works to get his stride foot down sooner to work on time. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 70-74 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with late/sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup and shows a solid feel for the pitch. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. With 3 years to further develop, Ethan has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.
