01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Ethan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities at the Preseason All American event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate is where he shows best through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are firm but needs to present earlier and more out front. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program.

08/04/2022 - Baseball Factory Summer World Series at the NY Mets Spring Training Complex Ethan is a class of 2023 outfield prospect. In the field, he shows athletic feet with a positive first step. He fields from an athletic position with his hands out front and creates momentum on his throws by working behind and through the baseball. At the plate, he starts in a tall open stance. Consistently gets his hands activated pre-pitch in the swing with rhythm and timing. Flashes pop to all fields. In addition, Ethan is a good clubhouse guy caring about the others in the dugout and enjoying the process.

01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season Prospects Tournament (HS) Ethan is a 2023 OF who showcased his skills at the Baseball Factory Pre-Season Prospects Tournament. In the OF, he works to center the baseball and showed ability to make routine plays. He takes aggressive routes to the baseball and has a quick/clean transfer. He made accurate throws into the infield with an arm velocity up to 64mph. At the plate, he begins with an upright and open stance. Showed good awareness of the strike zone and had smooth timing to swing. Showed a fast barrel as he hit balls into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 83mph. In live game action, he reached base multiple times and played the game with good energy. With another year of growth and development, we foresee Ethan making huge strides on the baseball field.

08/13/2021 - Baseball Factory Summer Classic Ethan is an OF prospect who worked hard at the BF Summer Classic. In the OF, showed ability to create good fielding angles and had a clean gather off his left foot. Tries to work behind the ball while keeping his feet active throughout process. Throws from a high 3/4 arm slot coming forward, with a long arm stroke, and an arm velocity up to 71mph through the cutoff man. A right-handed hitter, he hits from an athletic and square stance. Takes an aggressive hack, with good balance at contact, and keeps his head still through contact. He shows good barrel control and rotates lower half to contact point. Gets extended through contact as he hit balls hard to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 89mph during his round of BP. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Ethan having a bright future on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
