07/27/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Ethan is a hard working and talented 2020 2B prospect that worked hard and made several adjustments throughout the week at Pirate City. At 2B, Ethan is on time with his prep step, he presents a low/early glove, and anticipates the ball off the bat. He has fluid actions and turn double plays well. Continuing to practice game like throws in his throwing program will increase his ability to throw from multiple arm angles and on the run. At the plate, Ethan starts in a squared stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and has good separation. He hits off a firm front side and keeps his head down at contact. Continuing to have a quiet head and keep the barrel behind the ball will allow him to drive the ball to all fields. Ethan has a high baseball IQ and will continue to improve with experience. We hope to see his progress in the future.

11/09/2017 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 14-18) Ethan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate he shows a squared / athletic setup and simple approach. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive approach. He stays inside the baseball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At 2B, he displays smooth / clean actions. Hands are clean and present well out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls but will benefit by playing through with his body. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds/ turn of the double play. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and a very hard worker.

05/14/2017 - National Tryout Plus - Colorado Springs, CO Ethan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the MIF, defensive abilities have improved as well as he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are aggressive as he works to square balls up through a low approach but will benefit by play through balls more with his body. Glove action is soft and he presents well out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on feeds/turns of the double play and slow rollers. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared / athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he works to utilize his lower half more efficiently.

11/10/2016 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona Ethan is a lean, athletic 2B who will graduate in 2020. In the MIF, feet are active / aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through a low approach. Glove action is soft / sure has he presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing the whole field through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently and adds overall body strength. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable, plays the game hard, and is a great teammate. With 4 years to further develop, Ethan has abilities with time and room to continue to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
